5th Fleet is a 1994 modern naval combat simulation from The Avalon Hill Game Company, developed by Stanley Associates. It puts you in command of a U.S. Navy task force in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean, with Nimitz-class carriers, Ticonderoga-class cruisers, submarines, and over 60 types of aircraft across 10 scenarios, playable against the computer, head to head, or by e-mail. It is one of the last computer games Avalon Hill released before the brand changed hands, and the big box with its dramatic cover art is a great display piece on its own.
