Fighting for Rome Big Box PC Impressions Merit Software Wargame 1991

$35.00
Fighting for Rome is a miniature style wargame from Impressions, published and distributed in North America by Merit Software in 1991. The ancient era of warfare was dominated by the Carthaginians, the Barbarians, the Spartans and the Trojans, but above all by the Romans, and here you take command of your own Roman army and put your tactics to the test. Units can be controlled individually or in groups, and powerful Group Command options let you order troops into formations such as double ranks or squares, march, run or charge in any direction, and command ranks of archers to fire at will on a specific enemy force. There are 7 types of infantry, cavalry and archers, user definable army composition, varied terrain, a scenario builder, and pseudo real time play with no turns, all animated in the style of tabletop miniatures. It is an early and distinctive entry in the Impressions wargame catalogue, from the studio that went on to the Caesar and Lords of the Realm series.
