Metropolis (1987) IBM PC Big Box Arcadia Systems Graeme Devine Complete 2 Disks
$75.00
Metropolis
Metropolis is an arcade adventure designed, programmed, illustrated and scored single handedly by Graeme Devine, years before he co founded Trilobyte and created The 7th Guest. It was published in 1987 by Arcadia Systems, the American arm of the Mastertronic Group, for IBM PC and compatibles. The setting is Metropolis, the biggest and most advanced city in the Network States, a far future place of ZoomTube travel and towering architecture whose human population has vanished. All that remains is a scattering of droids, remarkably keen to make sure you never find out where the people went. On the surface your job is simple: recover a stolen master tape for a brilliant but paranoid software house. Underneath, you roam the streets, strike up conversations with the metal inhabitants and piece together what really happened to the city. The game even boots straight from its own disks on a custom written system, no DOS required.
