Riven: The Sequel to Myst (1997) — PC Big Box, French

About the game: The landmark sequel to Myst, developed by Cyan and published by Red Orb Entertainment in 1997. Atrus sends the Stranger into the Age of Riven to rescue his wife Catherine from his megalomaniac father Gehn, who rules the dying world's island cultures as a god. Riven pushed the pre rendered adventure further than any game before it, with over 4,000 hand crafted images across five CDs, a fully realized island civilization with its own numbering system and language, and puzzles woven into the world's machinery. It sold more than 4.5 million copies, making it one of the best selling PC games of all time.
