SPQR: The Empire's Darkest Hour (1996) — PC Big Box, Factory Sealed
About the game: A Myst style puzzle adventure developed by CyberSites and published by GT Interactive in December 1996, a remake of the popular online "Ancient Worlds" adventure that drew over 12 million hits in 1995. Set in 205 AD, the player must unmask the saboteur known only as the Calamitus before the destruction of Ancient Rome, exploring an accurately modeled Roman forum rendered in Softimage by Columbia architecture professors Eden Muir and Rory O'Neill. GameSpot called the graphics excellent, almost photorealistic at times, and the game's journals, scrolls and suspect notebooks make it as educational as it is challenging. This copy is factory sealed, so the contents were not photographed.
